Love The Lord’s Appearing

Love The Lord’s

Appearing

“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:8).

The Apostle Paul connected our love for the Lord with the coming of Christ in 1 Corinthians 16:22 AMP: “If anyone does not love the Lord [does not have a friendly affection for Him and is not kindly disposed toward Him], he shall be accursed! Our Lord will come! (Maranatha!).”Therefore, those who love His appearing will do something about it. If you really love the Lord, and are expectant of His soon return, you’ll take His number one job—soul winning—seriously.

Through the preaching of the Gospel you affirm your love for Jesus and anticipate His soon return. Always remember that many in the world today still don’t know anything about Jesus’ first coming not to talk of his second coming. This is one reason you must keep publicizing the Gospel.

It amazes me when people get apprehensive at the mention of the Lord’s appearing. Their reaction confirms that they’re not prepared for the Master’s soon return. Jesus is coming back again, and very soon at that. Everything around us; the different happenings in the world today proves we’re in the last lap of the end times. We must therefore become more fervent than ever before with the preaching of the Gospel.

When the Lord said in Luke 19:13 “…occupy till I come,” He meant preach the Gospel; do everything possible to cover the earth with the good news of salvation. Keep at it till the King comes back.

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for the ministry of reconciliation which has been committed unto my trust. I live today and everyday as a faithful steward and custodian of the Gospel, making known to everyone around me the glorious salvation that’s in Christ Jesus and our hope of His soon return, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
