A Surah with more than 100 Ayah called Surah Al-Wadiyan is lost for ever

 

Surah Al Wadiyan

A lost Surah of the Quran that is as big as Surah 9

 

Now we present this article to the muslim apologists looking forward to honest feedback but first we remind them of the following Ayah that yet again judges the Quran to be man fabricated and not from God, the ayah is inSurah Al-Hijr 15:9
We, Ourselves, have sent down the Dhikr (the Qur’an), and We are there to protect it.

But here we stop and remind Muslim apologists that there are hundred of evidences that prove Quran not preserved but a lot have been lost and we gonna present some of that here and in future releases

One of those Surahs that are lost for ever is Surah “Al-Wadiyan”, and this arabic word means “two valleys”

 

So a lot of hadith from several in independent resource said that this Surah belongs to the Quran but the Quran that we have today does not include that Surah!

And following are the evidences we will present today

 

First Evidence: From Sahih Muslim and Sharh Al Nawawi

Sahih Muslim 2286: Abu Harb b. Abu al-Aswad reported on the authority of his father that Abu Musa al-Ash’ari sent for the reciters of Basra. They came to him and they were three hundred in number. They recited the Qur’an and he said: You are the best among the inhabitants of Basra, for you are the reciters among them. So continue to recite it. (But bear in mind) that your reciting for a long time may not harden your hearts as were hardened the hearts of those before you. We used to recite a surah which resembled in length and severity to (Surah) Bara’at. {Meaning surah 9} I have, however, forgotten it with the exception of this which I remember out of it: “If there were two valleys full of riches, for the son of Adam, he would long for a third valley, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust.” And we used to recite a surah which resembled one of the surahs of Musabbihat, and I have forgotten it, but remember (this much) out of it: “O people who believe, why do you say that which you do not practise” (lxi. 2) and “that is recorded in your necks as a witness (against you) and you would be asked about it on the Day of Resurrection” (xvii. 13).

So as you see the reciters that was given the role to preserve the Quran forgot a Surah that supposedly have 123 Ayah except one or two of it that is mentioned, let us continue and see the circumstances that surround that in the further evidences

 

Second Evidence: From Tafsir Fateh Al Kadir

أيضاً ورد فى تفسير فتح القدير :

Third Evidence: From “Siyar Allam Al Noballa”

This book is by Sheikh Muhammad ben Ahmad ben Othman Al Zahaby

This one is very interesting, in a chapter in this book that the chapter name itself is controversial, the chapter name goes like this “BAB AL NASH WAL MAHWO MEN Al SEDOUR” meaning the “Chapter of abrogation and removal from reciter chests” meaning the abrogations of Quran that happened by making the reciter and memorizers of the Quran forget ayahs and surahs, let’s see what is mentioned in it regarding the lost Surah of our subject.

Reported by Abu Harb ben Abi Masoud, from his father from Abi Moussa said:

We used to recite a surah which resembled in length and severity to (Surah) Bara’at. {Meaning surah 9} I have, however, forgotten it with the exception of this which I remember out of it: “If there were two valleys full of riches, for the son of Adam, he would long for a third valley, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust.” And we used to recite a surah which resembled one of the surahs of Musabbihat, and I have forgotten it, but remember (this much) out of it: “O people who believe, why do you say that which you do not practise” and “that is recorded in your necks as a witness (against you) and you would be asked about it on the Day of Resurrection”  (directed by Muslim)

 

And reported by Shoaeb ben Abi Hamza and others, from Al Zoharri, Abu Omamah ben Sahl told me: A group of Al Ansar the Sahaba of Rasoul Allah (pbuh) told him that a man stayed in the midth of the night wanting to start (reciting) a Surah that he was known, so he could not remember it but : “In name of Allah The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful” so he came to the door of Rasoul Allah (pbuh) when he started his morning to ask him about that, then another came until they met together, so they started to ask each other what make them meet, so some started to mention this Surah, and then Rasoul Allah (pbuh) allowed them to speak so they told him their concern and asked him about this surah, so he (Muhammad) kept silent for an hour not answering back, and the he (Muhammad) said: “It was abrogated yesterday” so then it was abrogated from their chest {memory} and from its contents

Also been reported by Okayel from Ibn Shehab said about that (and Ibn Al Mosabeb sitting there not denying that) :

The abrogation of this surah and removal from the reciters chest (memory) is from the evidences of the prophecy of Muhammad and the hadith is Sahih!!

 

The evidence of Muhammad’s prophecy is that Allah makes reciters forget the abrogated inspiration?????? Obviously it is just a lame excuse to save the face as the arabic parable says

“حفظ ماء الوجه”

To save the Islam face someone fabricated that this is a sign of true prophecy, what an excuse??????

وَقَالَ شُعَيْبُ بْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ وَغَيْرُهُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ، أَنَّ رَهْطًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرُوهُ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَامَ فِي جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَفْتَتِحَ سُورَةً كَانَ قَدْ وَعَاهَا ، فَلَمْ يَقْدِرْ مِنْهَا عَلَى شَيْءٍ إِلَّا : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ ، فَأَتَى بَابَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ أَصْبَحَ لِيَسْأَلَهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ آخَرُ حَتَّى اجْتَمَعُوا، فَسَأَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا مَا جَمَعَهُمْ ؟ فَأَخْبَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا بِشَأْنِ تِلْكَ السُّورَةِ، ثُمَّ أَذِنَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ خَبَرَهُمْ ، وَسَأَلُوهُ عَنِ السُّورَةِ ، فَسَكَتَ سَاعَةً لَا يُرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِمْ شَيْئًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : ” نُسِخَتِ الْبَارِحَةَ، فَنُسِخَتْ مِنْ صُدُورِهِمْ ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ كَانَتْ فِيهِ.

Forth Evidence: Muhammad sometimes confused what is Quran ayahs and what is not

This is also very interesting something slipped from Muhammad mouth that is enough to prove that the God of Islam Allah’s own inspiration was never preserved, and interestingly this hadith is mentioned in the “SAHIHAYIN” the two Sahih books Muslim and Bukhari

(Muslim apologists no excuse for you here!)

Reported by Yahia ben Yahia and Saeed ben Mansour and Kutayba ben Saeed, from Awana from Qutada from Annas said

Rasoul Allah (pbuh) said “If there were two valleys full of riches, for the son of Adam, he would long for a third valley, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust and Allah repent back on who repented”

And reported by Ibn Al Mothanna and Ibn Bashar, from Muhammad ben Gaffar, from Shobba, Qutada from Annas said I heard Rasoul Allah (pbuh) saying “I don’t know is this something “ONZELLA” (meaning Quranic inspiration that descended on Muhammad) or something that Abu Owanna used to say as parable”

I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying, “If the son of Adam had money equal to a valley, then he will wish for another similar to it, for nothing can satisfy the eye of Adam’s son except dust. And Allah forgives him who repents to Him.” Ibn `Abbas said: I do not know whether this saying was quoted from the Qur’an or not. `Ata’ said, “I heard Ibn AzZubair saying this narration while he was on the pulpit.”

So Muhammad was not sure it is Ayah from Quran or a parable from someone else!

I am sure someone who desperately defending Islam will say because Muhammad was not sure that is why it is not included in the Quran we have now, but even that will not help check the next evidences

 

Fifth Evidence: Muhammad has already used this lost Surah as Quran!

Ok even lame excuses can not save the face of Islam, Muhammad had already used Ayahs from that lost Surah as Quran!!!!

We find that hadith that graded Sahih and Hassan in Sunan Al Tirmizi as following:

 

Reported by Mahmoud ben Ghillan from Abu Dawood, from Shouba from Assem from Zarr Ben Hebesh saying from Ubbi Ben Kabb that:

Rasoul Allah (pbuh) said to him:

“Allah commanded me to recite for you Quran”so he (Muhammad started to recite some ayahs and one of them was:

“If there were two valleys full of riches, for the son of Adam, he would long for a third valley, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust and Allah repent back on who repented”

Abu Eissa said this Hadith is Sahih and Hassan

 

Also same was reported Abdallah Ben Abd AlRahman Ben Abri from his father from Ubbi Ben Kabb Raddia Allah Anho said (The same hadith)

Also same reported by Kutada from Annas that (and again The Same hadith). Also following concurred the same hadith:

Ahmad and  Al Hakim

Al Hafez in Al Fatteh said the Esnad is good, also Ahmad in his Mosnad concurred the sannad also the same did Ahmad and Al Shaykhan and Al Nassayi

 

So last evidence Muhammad was not sure about this Surah, but here we see something different he used that as Quran! So in periods of his life we was not so sure about it and in other he was very sure!

So why Muslims insist on non corrupted Quran if the founder of Islam was inconsistent about the Quranic revelation that comes to him????

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

 وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَقْرَأَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ

(هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ)

وَأَخْرَجَهُ أَحْمَدُ،وَالْحَاكِمُ قَالَ الْحَافِظُ فِي الْفَتْحِ إِسْنَادُهُ جَيِّدٌ ( وَرَوَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ إِلَخْ ) وَصَلَهُ أَحْمَدُ فِي مُسْنَدِهِ ( وَقَدْ رَوَى قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ – صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- قَالَ لِأُبَيٍّ إِلَخْ ) وَصَلَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالشَّيْخَانِ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ.

Sixth Evidence: Ibn Abbas And Umar established Al-Wadyan in the Quran!

And for this we find 2 books that mentioned that hadith the first is “Magma Al Zawayid Wa Manba Al Fawayid” and the second is “Mosnad Ahmad Ben Hanbal” the hadith goes like this:

 

From Ibn Abbas who said:

A man came to Umar  mercy on him (Umar Ben Khatab the second Khalif) to beg him (for money), so Umar kept looking to his head once and another to his leg to see if he really is a miserable (poor person)

Then Umar said to him “How much do you own?”

THe man answered “ Forty camel”

Then Ibn Abbas said: I said truthful was Allah and his apostle when said

If there were two valleys full of riches, for the son of Adam, he would long for a third valley, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust and Allah repent back on who repented

So Umar said to me: What is that?

I (Ibn Abbas) replied: that is what my father recited to me

So Umar replied: take me to him

Then we came to my father

Umar (talking to Ibn Abbas Father): what is he (Ibn Abbas) reciting?

Ibn Abbas’s Father: that is how Rasoul Allah (pbuh) recited for me

Umar: should we establish this in Al Moshaf (The Quran)?

Ibn Abbas’s Father: yes

Reported by Ahmad and the men of this hadith are the men of Sahih hadith

وهذا ماورد مجمع الزوائد ومنبع الفوائد :

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عُمَرَ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ – يَسْأَلُهُ ، فَجَعَلَ عُمَرُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى رَأْسِهِ مَرَّةً ، وَإِلَى رِجْلَيْهِ أُخْرَى ، هَلْ يَرَى عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْبُؤْسِ ؟ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ : كَمْ مَالُكَ ؟ قَالَ : أَرْبَعُونَ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ . قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ:قُلْتُ : صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُلَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ لَابْتَغَى ثَالِثًا ، وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ ، وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ “. فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : مَا هَذَا ؟ قُلْتُ : هَكَذَا أَقْرَأَنِيهَا أُبَيٌّ . قَالَ : فَمُرَّ بِنَا إِلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : فَجَاءَ إِلَى أُبَيٍّ ، فَقَالَ : مَا يَقُولُ هَذَا ؟ قَالَ أُبَيٌّ : هَكَذَا أَقْرَأَنِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ – صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَقَالَ : أَفَأَثْبَتَّهَا فِي الْمُصْحَفِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ.

رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

حيث ورد فى مسند أحمد ابن حنبل  :

حَدَّثَنَ اأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عُمَرَ يَسْأَلُهُ فَجَعَلَ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى رَأْسِهِ مَرَّةً وَإِلَى رِجْلَيْهِ أُخْرَى هَلْ يَرَى عَلَيْهِ مِنْ الْبُؤْسِ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ كَمْ مَالُكَ قَالَ أَرْبَعُونَ مِنْ الْإِبِلِ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُلْتُ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ لَوْ كَانَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَانِ مِنْ ذَهَبً لَابْتَغَى الثَّالِثَ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ جَوْفَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَفَقَالَ عُمَرُ مَا هَذَا فَقُلْتُ هَكَذَا أَقْرَأَنِيهَا أُبَيٌّ قَالَ فَمَرَّ بِنَا إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَجَاءَ إِلَى أُبَيٍّ فَقَالَ مَا يَقُولُ هَذَا قَالَ أُبَيٌّ هَكَذَا أَقْرَأَنِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَفَأُثْبِتُهَا فَأَثْبَتَهَا .

Waoooo! What we get out of this? We conclude 2 things

First: Ibn Abbas said about Al-Wadyan “Allah said” so it is Quran but it is not in the current Quran

Second: It was their in the Quran according to Ibn Abbas (and his father) and Umar, and we notice that Ibn Abbas is telling that later after Umar had died because he is saying “God have mercy on him” and when this happened obviously also Muhammad was already died, because we all know that Ibn Abbas was only 15 years old when Muhammad died

Which concludes that in the days of Umar and Ibn Abbas they established Surah Al-Wadyan as part of the Quran because Umar asked Ibn Abbas Father, should we establish this in the Quran and the Father of Ibn Abbas answer was yes establish this in the Quran.

So after Muhammad died Surah Al-Wadyan was established in the Quran, if it was textually abrogated this must have to happen in Muhammad life time based on so called inspiration from Allah for him but this did not happen because the Surah was there after the prophet’s death based on Umar, Ibn Abbas and others. But again somehow after Umar lifetime it was removed from the Quran.

So how come that others says that this Surah is eliminated from the Quran text by Abrogation??? The whole abrogation thing off course makes no sense especially in the case of text elimination, but let’s say for the sake of argument yes it makes sense, can text elimination and abrogation happens after Muhammad lifetime???

 

 This is not a challenge to you Muslim defenders, this is an invitation to think unbiasedly
