The Word Works

The Word Works!
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart“ (Hebrews 4:12).
Ialways love to share this story of the young girl who had been given up by the doctors to die. Her lungs had been badly damaged by disease and she was constantly connected to oxygen and confined to a hospital bed. One day, while on her bed waiting to die, she flipped through the pages of the Bible and stumbled on the verse that says, “who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness…” (1 Peter 2:24).
When she read this scripture, she broke down and said, “Dear Lord Jesus, thank you because you bore my sins on your body on the cross, and now that I am dying, I know I’m coming home and will surely see you soon.” Then she read further and saw the latter part that says “by whose stripes ye were healed” (1Peter 2:24).
Immediately, her eyes lit up. She said, “Dear Lord, I just thanked you for bearing my sins on your body on the cross. I didn’t know you healed me too. Lord, I’m sorry, I won’t be coming home very soon!”
She believed the Word she read and acted on it. She got rid of the oxygen and stepped out of her sick bed! She acted on the Word and received her healing! She took advantage of what had been made available to her in the Word.
The Word of God is powerful, but it won’t work for you if you let it remain in the pages of the Bible. You’ve got to act on it. So no matter the challenges you’re facing in any area of your life—be it your finances, your health, your job or your family, act on the ever-dependable Word of God, and you’ll surely have a testimony.
Confession
Dear Father, I thank you for the power of your Word to produce for me today my anticipated miracle as I put my faith to work. I declare that your Word is growing mightily and prevailing in me, thus my progress and success is apparent to all, in Jesus’ Name.
