“…In His Image And Likeness”

“…In His Image And Likeness”
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness… (Genesis 1:26).
Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” As profound as this truth is, there’s more. Observe our theme verse again. God said, “…Let us make man in our image, after our likeness….” Made “after His likeness” means we were made to function like Him. Thus, not only do we look like Him, we can emulate Him; we can function like Him. The question then is, “How does He function?”
Genesis 1:1 gives us an idea; it says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” This signifies that God is a creator, because the first thing we read about Him in the book of Genesis is that “He created”: that indicates one of His functions. So, like Him, you’re a creator. Secondly, notice what He created: “The heavens and the earth.” Heaven is an environment, so also is the earth; they’re both environments that function in a certain way, based on design. This means that, with faith-filled proclamations, you can create your own environment of victory, prosperity and health.
Genesis 1:2 tells us what God did when the earth was without form, and in total chaos: with the creative word, He restored order, beauty and form to the earth; whatever He said came to be. Like Him, you can utter words—creative words of faith—and have what you say (Mark 11:23).
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for the ability to effect changes in the circumstances of my life by speaking forth your Word. Being a creator, just like you are, I declare positive and tremendous changes in my finances, health, family, education, ministry, and business today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
