Tests And Trials Are For Your Promotion

Tests And Trials

Are For Your Promotion

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory (2 Corinthians 4:17).

Have you ever wondered how come God didn’t just take you out of here, into heaven, the moment you gave your life to Christ? Some Christians often wonder why God left us in a world that’s so full of tests, trials and temptations. Well, the world may be filled with tests, trials and temptations, but Jesus assures us not to worry or be overwhelmed, for He has overcome the world for us. In John 16:33, He said “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

So, it doesn’t matter the trials or challenges that may come your way, be of good cheer! They are for your promotion. In 1 Peter 1:7, the Bible tells us that“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.”Also, James 1:3-4 says“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”

So, just because you’re experiencing trying times doesn’t mean you’re defeated. The truth is that those tests and trials are springboards for your promotion! Contrary to what many think, it’s a blessing when you face trials and temptations, it’s not a curse! It’s what you do with them that matters. That’s why you must grow your faith with the Word of God, so that no matter what happens, you’ll always win.

Let’s take David for an example. When Goliath of Gath terrorized the children of Israel, it was David who stood up against the giant, killed him and brought the fear of Jehovah upon the Philistines (1 Samuel 17:20-58). David didn’t despair like the rest of the children of Israel; instead, he recognized that trial as a means for his promotion.

As a child of God, the challenges you face are not supposed to discourage or destroy you; they are actually your stepping stones for promotion. No wonder James said“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations”(James 1:2). It actually should be an exciting thing when a child of God faces challenging situations, for there ought to be only one sure outcome—victory!

Prayer

Thank you Father for your Word that lets us know that our light affliction works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory! I know that every challenging situation I face is an opportunity for me to shine and manifest my victory in Christ Jesus. Therefore I rejoice, knowing that through your strength and power that work in me mightily, I live an overcoming life today in Jesus’ Name.
