Fruits Of Righteousness

Fruits Of Righteousness

Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God

(Philippians 1:11).

God wants our lives to be filled with the fruits or works and results of righteousness. In John 15:5, Jesus said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches….” We’re the branches, and that means we’re the fruit-bearing part of the Vine. We’re the ones holding forth or bearing the fruits of His righteousness everywhere we go. The fruits of righteousness refer to the works, products or produce of God’s righteousness working in us.

2 Corinthians 5:21 lets us know we’ve been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Our nature is righteousness, and that nature is producing results in us. Everywhere you go, righteousness produces results in you; causing you to bring forth divine works. This is possible because you’re in union and fellowship of the God-kind.

When Jesus restored sight to the blind, He was showing forth fruits of righteousness. When He unstopped deaf ears, gave new legs to the maimed to walk, raised the dead, and fed the hungry, He was showing forth fruits of righteousness. When He comforted the afflicted, and spoke divine words to encourage, lift and bless, He was showing forth fruits of righteousness. Now, the Bible says, we’re His workmanship, recreated in Christ Jesus unto good works; we’re born unto good works (Ephesians 2:10). Those good works are fruits of righteousness.

Everywhere you go, you’re to produce good works. Think about it: we have words that heal; we have words that lift; they come out of us all the time like Jesus, and the apostles. We also have become wonder makers; we produce wonders everywhere because we’re filled with fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Prayer

Blessed heavenly Father,

I thank you for bringing me into union with you. I rejoice to think of the honour and privilege you’ve given me—to manifest your beauty and glory to the world. I thank you for anointing my words to heal, lift, bless and inspire others today, in Jesus’ Name.

Amen.
