Christ Has Been Judged For Us!

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…

” (Romans 8:1).

The word “condemnation” in the verse above also means “judgment.” So it can also read: “There is therefore now no judgment to them which are in Christ Jesus….” Many are afraid of God’s judgement, but for us who are born again the Bible says“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world”(1 John 4:17). We’re to be bold in the Day of Judgment because of the Father’s eternal love for us! The sinners may dread His wrath; but we look forward to His appearing, knowing that Christ has been judged for us!

The Bible clearly reveals two main judgments for sinners. The first one took place when the Lord Jesus was judged for the sins of mankind on the cross of Calvary, and the second will take place on the Judgment Day, before the great white throne. Sadly, most people are only familiar with the latter. According to Romans 8:1, man doesn’t have to face the second judgment. He can obtain God’s righteousness by accepting the truth that Jesus was judged for him on the cross of Calvary. Jesus became the sacrifice for our sins and paid the penalty by His death (Galatians 3:13-14).

But thanks be unto God, He didn’t remain in the grave. He resurrected on the third day; therefore, as many as believe in Him are justified from sin. What He accomplished for us is much more than remission of sins. He ushered us into a newness of life; we now have a new nature. Today, the Lord Jesus is sitting on the throne of grace calling all men to accept what He did for them.

Now, every man can boldly come before the throne of grace to obtain mercy (Hebrews 4:16). But someday not too far away, that throne of grace will become the throne of judgment where the entire world would be judged according to their works. It’s our responsibility to announce to the world that the price has been paid already for their salvation, as there’ll be no place for repentance on the Day of Judgment.

Confession

Dear Father,

I thank you for giving me your righteousness as a gift, and inspiring in me the consciousness that I’m as righteous as Jesus is righteous. I reign and rule as a king today, taking advantage of my right standing with you,

in Jesus’ Name.
