The Only Wise God

The Only Wise God

“Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen” (1 Timothy 1:17).

God is the embodiment of wisdom. He’s not just a wise God, He is wisdom personified and does all things according to His wisdom; according to the counsel of His own will (Ephesians 1:11).

Psalm 104:24-28 describes how through wisdom, God created all things: “O LORD, how many are your works! In wisdom you have made them all;the earth is full of your possessions. There is the sea, great and broad, in which are swarms without number, Animals both small and great. There the ships move along, {And} Leviathan, which you have formed to sport in it. They all wait for you to give them their food in due season. You give to them, they gather {it} up; you open your hand, they are satisfied with good.” The beauty and awesomeness of creation is the result of God’s wisdom. By that same wisdom He made the heavens (Psalm 136:5), and caused the earth to overflow with riches.

God’s wisdom is as high as the heights of heaven, and infinitely incomparable: “Can you find out the deep things of God, or can you by searching find out the limits of the Almighty [explore His depths, ascend to His heights, extend to His breadths, and comprehend His infinite perfection]? His wisdom is as high as the heights of heaven…”(Job 11:7-8 AMP). Man’s wisdom at its best, still can’t compare to the wisdom of God, for the Bible says “the foolishness of God is wiser than men” (1 Corinthians 1:25). Thus, if it were ever possible for God to be foolish, His foolishness would still be wiser than man’s wisdom.

God doesn’t see as men see; in fact, He sees what men don’t see. Only God could look at an old man, about an hundred years old, with a barren wife, and still call that man “Abraham” which means “father of many nations:” “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17). Only God can look at you and insist that you’re an absolute success, even when people or circumstances say otherwise about you.

It doesn’t matter how hopelessly hopeless that situation is that you might be facing, He’s the God that gives life to the dead, and with His words can make something out of nothing. This is the reason you ought never to resist or ignore His Word. Always hearken to His words and be prompt to carry out His instructions. His Word is wisdom. No wonder, the Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul charged us to pay attention to God’s Word, which is able to make you deal wisely in the affairs of life (2 Timothy 3:15). Choose today to always accept whatever God tells you, for He’s the only wise God. Study and meditate on His Word, for the totality of His wisdom is encapsulated therein.

Confession

Now to you O, Lord, the King eternal, immortal, invisible and only wise God, be honour and glory for ever! Thank you for granting me perfect understanding and the ability to apply specific and exact knowledge in dealing wisely in the affairs of life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
