You Know God From Your Spirit

You Know God From
Your Spirit
The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly (Proverbs 20:27).
God communicates with your spirit; you can only relate to Him from your spirit, and not from your mind or physical body. When the Word of God is preached under the anointing of the Spirit, it ministers grace to your spirit, and impacts your mind and soul.
The reason is that the human person is a spirit being, and not a physical body. When a man dies, for instance, his body may still have all its faculties intact, but it remains lifeless. This is because the real person; the spirit, has left the body, which hitherto was its house.
Some skeptics analyze man’s anatomy, theorizing that man doesn’t have any space in his physiological make up for the human spirit. Ignorantly, they ask, “Where inside man could the spirit possibly be; since his entire structure comprises of different vital organs?” First, the word “spirit” (Greek: pneuma) is synonymous with “wind”; which means the human spirit has some attributes of the wind. The spirit therefore can occupy anywhere air or wind can get into. Now, imagine how much space there are in the human body for air to pass through: Your nostrils, your eyes even your skin!
God communicates to you and guides you from your spirit; therefore, you must constantly seek the development of your human spirit by engaging in spirit-building activities. You exercise and energize your spirit through fasting, studying and meditating on the Word, and praying in the Holy Ghost. These spiritual activities help your spirit to be more attuned to the Lord and receive the guidance of His Spirit.
God seeks to minister to your spirit and reveal Himself through the Word to your spirit; this is enough reason for you to constantly exercise your spirit unto godliness: “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come” (1 Timothy 4:8).
Prayer
Dear Father, my spirit is energized, strengthened and fortified by your Word today; I’m in total submission to your Lordship and guidance through the Word and the Holy Spirit; and my life is in sync with your perfect will for me, in Jesus Name. Amen.
