Inherent Life

Inherent Life

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)

(John 10:10 AMP).

     The Lord Jesus Christ, in the verse above, unveils to us His mission statement; He came that we may have life to the full. The word “life” as used by the Lord in this context is the Greek word “Zoe.” “Zoe” is the God kind of life, the very essence of divinity, the indestructible, imperishable, incorruptible life of God.

        Alluding to this life in John 5:26, Jesus said, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.” This refers to inherent life. The Lord Jesus had an with inherent life; He had the God-life to the full. This is the same life He has given to us. No human person had this life before Jesus came; the Bible tells us that, “In him was life; and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4).

        In 1John 5:11, the Bible says, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” What this verse of scripture is telling us is that God has given to us Zoe. This isn’t a promise, but a statement of fact; a present hour reality. God isn’t going to give us Zoe sometime in the future; He has already given it to us in Christ Jesus. It’s our present hour possession.

        When a man is born into the world, he’s born with the human life. The human life is however not sufficient because man is a spirit, and needs the supernatural life to function in his full potentials.  But the Lord Jesus came to give us another kind of life —the God-life.

       Being born again, you now have the same life that Jesus has in its fullness. This life is sickness-proof, disease-proof, poverty-proof and failure-proof. It’s a life of glory, victory, success and excellence. No wonder the Apostle John cried out: “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” (1John 5:13).  The reason God wants you to know you have eternal life, Zoe, is so you can act it and by so doing live out the full potentials of this life to the praise and glory of God.

Confession

I have the life and nature of God in me;

therefore, I’m an overcomer and more than a conqueror. I live a triumphant and victorious life every day,

far above the devils and the negative systems of this world!
