Victory In Your Mind

Victory In Your Mind
“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”
(2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
There’re two kinds of strongholds: External and internal strongholds. External strongholds are satanic or human, built to deter us from doing or achieving God’s purpose. Today’s subject is on internal strongholds. The Apostle Paul in our theme scripture was talking about the interplay of thoughts and imaginations that characterize the conflicts that take place in our minds. “Strongholds” as used here are thought patterns that have governed people’s minds for a protracted period. These thought patterns may be as a result of a person’s background or experiences, or the result of erroneous religious theories and postulations held over a protracted period.
Strongholds are also the results of your habits; they are the results of your character or mind-set, which you had before you were born again! When such a mind-set now prevents new thoughts of God from coming into your mind, it becomes a stronghold. For example, there’re people who believe they’ll never get healed, because they had suffered for too long with a certain ailment; that’s a stronghold in their minds that needs to be pulled down.
Fear is also a stronghold: fear of darkness and dark places, and fear of the future. Some are even afraid to make investments in business; they’re no longer daring and trusting, because of the unpleasant experiences they’d had in the past; these are strongholds. How do you pull down strongholds? It’s by taking heed to the Word of God; bringing into captivity every negative thought to the obedience of Christ.
Sometimes we pull down strongholds, but instead of bringing the negative thoughts into captivity, we leave them; and soon, our minds again become susceptible to those same ravaging thoughts. You’ve got to stop such thoughts from holding sway over your mind. How? By praying. Whenever the devil assaults your mind with contrary thoughts, you’ve got to pray, especially in other tongues. As you pray, study, and meditate on the Word of God, thoughts of victory, prosperity, success and health will flood your mind; and as you act on the Word, you’ll enjoy a life of unending success.
Confession
I have the mind of Christ and my mind is renewed daily through the Word of God. I am filled with the thoughts of God and I reveal the victorious life in Christ everywhere I go.
