We’re The Worshippers He Seeks

We’re The Worshippers

He Seeks

“For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh” (Philippians 3:3).

God is a spirit, and those who worship Him have to be able to relate with Him from that realm: “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-24). There are many kinds of worshippers in the world, but not everyone is a true worshipper.

Some people think that by singing or shaking their bodies vigorously, they’re truly worshipping God, but the Bible already tells us who the “true worshippers” are. They’re those who worship God in spirit and in truth, rejoicing in Christ Jesus, having no confidence in the flesh. Not everyone can give God this kind of worship. No wonder Jesus said,“…for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.”

Only the new creation can give God the kind of spiritual worship He seeks. We’re born of the Word and Spirit of God; we can relate with Him spiritually. By the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, we were brought into vital union with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Not only did He bring us out of sin and bondage, He made us new creations and filled us with the Holy Spirit so we could worship the Father in spirit and in truth.

As one who is born again, when you worship the Lord, there’s a union of spirits; a drinking together; that can’t happen with the unbeliever. You have a ministry to God, to worship Him in the beauty of holiness. He has made you a king-priest to offer sacrifice—the fruit of your lips—unto Him.

Prayer

Dear Father,

I worship and adore you for you’re the Lord of my life, my great provider, healer, redeemer and friend! You’re everything to me, and I thank you for your love, your grace and wisdom that you’ve made available to me in Christ Jesus. May your Name be glorified in my life and in all the earth, now and forever,

in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
