Be “Skillful” In The Word Of Righteousness

Be “Skillful” In The Word
OfRighteousness
“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe” (Hebrews 5:13) .
The verse above points out an important characteristic of the babe in Christ: his unskillfulness in the doctrine of righteousness. That means he doesn’t understand righteousness.
Without an understanding of righteousness, a Christian can’t live victoriously over the enemy. He’ll be subject to the elements of the world: “Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world” (Galatians 4:3). This is why you must grow in Christ unto maturity. Ephesians 4:14 says, “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.” You must desire to grow in Christ.
After you’ve received Christ and are born again, you shouldn’t remain a babe in spiritual things. A baby Christian is one who feeds on the milk of God’s Word. He’s yet to grasp the understanding of righteousness, and lacks insight of deep spiritual truths.
Don’t stay on milk; feed more on “strong meat:” “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:14). You need to become skilled in the doctrine of righteousness; be conscious that you’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. What this means is that the nature of God, which produces in you the ability to do and live right, has been imparted to your spirit. Walk in the consciousness of your righteousness in Christ, and the perfection and rightness of God will be manifested in you.
Prayer
Dear Father,
I thank you for granting me understanding of the doctrine of righteousness. As I skillfully apply your Word of righteousness, I’m confident that I’ll consistently walk in victory, success and prosperity, and manifest your rightness and excellence,
in Jesus Name. Amen.
