A Key Factor In Soul Winning

A Key Factor In Soul Winning
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that winneth souls is wise”
(Proverbs 11:30).
God has given us the mandate to win the lost. He charged us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature, turning them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God. However, we must recognize that there’s a god of this world, Satan, whose sole intent is to prevent people from receiving the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 says, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost; in whom the God of this world had blinded the minds of them which believe not lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God should shine on them.”
This is where intercession comes in. You’d have to pray that Satan, the god of this world, takes his filthy hands off those you want to see come to Christ, and command that their minds be opened to the light of the Gospel. You must continue in intercession for as long as it takes for the glorious light of the Gospel to shine in their hearts. You’d have to be spiritually violent about it: “…the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12).
The souls of men remain the primary area of contention between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. Jesus illustrating the conflict involved in freeing souls from the authority and influence of darkness said, “…how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? And then he will spoil his house” (Matthew 12:29).
Some people have heard the Gospel preached without being convicted of the need to make Jesus their Lord. This can however be changed when prayer and intercession are made on their behalf to God. Prayer is the avenue through which “the strong man” can be bound, his strongholds pulled down, and his blinding power over the unsaved, broken. So be diligent in praying earnestly and fervently for the lost. As you do, you concentrate the influence of God’s power towards them, to guide them into salvation.
Prayer
Dear Father,
I pray that the light of your glorious Gospel will dawn in the hearts of the unsaved as they hear your Word today. I come against the influence of the prince of the power of the air, and declare that his authority over them is broken, and the understanding of the Gospel is granted them,
in Jesus’ Name.
