Islam is not Abrahamic religion - Adam of the Quran is not Adam of the Torah

Islam is not Abrahamic religion - Adam of the Quran is not Adam of the Torah

Islam is not Abrahamic religion and Quran contradicts the Torah Part 1

The Quranic Adam is not of the Torah

Muslim apologists like Zakir Naik usually tries to portray Islam as a natural Abrahamic religion and more compliant with Judaism and Torah that Christianity.

But looking closer we find that each presents totally different God and totally different Agenda for Mankind and that we will be exploring in this series of articles. We will start with the creation account of mankind

Adam creation between Torah and Quran

According to Torah Adam were created from dust of the earth

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7

Meanwhile Quran has discrepancies from within in regards to that in one ayah in says clay, in another it says blood and in a third it says dust as following:

First: "Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood,"Q96:2

Second:  "We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape,Q15:26.

Third:    "The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: "Be". And he was," Q3:59.

Forth:    "But does not man call to mind that We created him before out of nothing?" (Q19:67, Yusuf Ali). Also, Q52:35).

So we see that not only Quran contradicts Torah  but Quran contradicts Quran

Mankind spiritual Image between Torah and Quran

Mankind spiritual image according to Torah is according to the image of God himself

Genesis 1:26-27

26Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,a and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27So God created mankind in his own image,

in the image of God he created them;

male and female he created them.

So God will not create on his own image and likeness for slavery purpose as the Quran said but naturally to be children of God

In Quran the spiritual image of mankind looks much less than the Torah account

Indeed, mankind was created anxious Q70:19

Man was created of haste Q21:37

In the last verse “Haste” means “excessive speed or urgency of movement or action; hurry.”

Why would Allah had created mankind in Haste???

Why would Allah suffer from shortage of time while creating mankind??? Doesn’t  that make Allah influenced by time and space? Isn’t Allah a transcendent God?

Mankind purpose of existence between Torah and Quran

According to Torah Adam was made the ruler of earth and if he would chose the right covenantal tree as we will see later he would have been in fellowship of love and life with God for ever

Genesis 1:26-28

26Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,a and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27So God created mankind in his own image,

in the image of God he created them;

male and female he created them.

28God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

But according to Quran mankind is created for the purpose of being worship slaves of Allah

Surah Maryam 19:93

There is none in the heavens and the earth, but bound to come to the All-Merciful as a slave. (Eng-Mufti Taqi Usmani)

Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:56

Allah Saying “I did not create the Jinns and the human beings except for the purpose that they should worship Me.

(Taqi Usmani)

The Covenants Choice for Adam between Torah and Quran

Free will means more than one choice, at least two choices, that is why in the book of Genesis in the Torah, Adam had a choice between two trees so God honors his free will and give him the choice, we find that in the following scripture

Genesis 2:9

The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

So there were 2 trees in the midth of evil which one was Adam allowed to eat from and which is prohibited? He was allowed to eat from the tree of life and was prohibited not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and warned that this will lead him to death as he will be in separation from God, we find that in the following scripture

Genesis 2:15-17

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.16And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

And that make sense of course, God desire for Adam was good and perfect, he wanted Adam to accept the Covenant of eternal relation and fellowship with God by eating from the tree of life by his own free will and warned him that taking the other covenant by eating from the tree of Knowledge of good and evil will lead to spiritual death and destruction as then this means Adam refused God and he will set for himself what is good and what is bad.

But Adam took the wrong covenant and believed Satan over God and ate from the tree of knowledge of God and evil! He made his free will choice and at that point the tree of life is no choice for him anymore (read Genesis 3:22-24)

Now according to the Quranic account Allah created one tree and prohibited Adam from eating from it, do you know what tree is that??

Read the following Ayahs

Surah Al Baqara 2:35-36

And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers.“

What is this tree? Answer is in the following ayah

Surah Taha 20:120-121

Then the Satan whispered unto him; he said: Adam! shall direct thee to the tree of eternity and a dominion that ageth not! Then the twain ate thereof; so there became disclosed to them their shame, and they began sewing upon them selves some of the leaves of the Garden, so Adam disobeyed his Lord, and erred

So the Quranic account says when Adam ate from the tree of eternity (life) he felt shame and naked, meanwhile the Torah account says when he ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil he felt shame and naked. Apparent and explicit contradiction between the Torah and the Quran

Obviously Quran tells the story in reverse, according to Quran Satan is good, he wanted Adam to eat from the tree of life that is prohibited by Allah!

Looks to me that the Quran wants Satan the one that is good to Adam and God is who wants evil to mankind!
