In Union With The Spirit
But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17).
The Apostle Paul, by the Spirit, in his epistle to the Galatians made it clear that God’s purpose right from the foundation of the world was for us to receive the Holy Spirit: “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” (Galatians 3:13-14). Furthermore, 1 Corinthians 6:19 says your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost; this means you were created for God’s dwelling; you’re His living tabernacle.
Often, in the Old Testament, the Spirit of God came upon men that were used of God, like Samson, David, Samuel and the prophets. He came upon them whenever He wanted them to accomplish some specific task. But today in the New Testament, we have something better than they had in the Old Testament. Jesus made it possible for the Holy Spirit to live in us, not just to come upon us, thereby fulfilling God’s purpose to be one with our spirits.
His purpose to be one with you didn’t end with your spirit but also impacts on your physical body. Your body is equally important to Him. He doesn’t want your body broken by sickness, disease or infirmity. He wants you sound, healthy, vibrant and normal. He wants you prosperous and healthy. That’s the reason He gave you the Holy Spirit, to bring His presence and power into your life, so you can live excellently for His glory. The Holy Spirit living in you keeps your body vitalized and free from sickness and disease (Romans 8:11) so you can serve the Lord with unhindered joy and gladness.
Your responsibility therefore is to say “Yes” to Him. Say “Yes” to the life of eternal prosperity, success, victory and health He has brought you into. Acknowledge and receive His wondrous love, grace and mercy which He has so lavishly bestowed on you. He loves you more than anything in the world.
Dear Holy Spirit, I’m fully conscious of your indwelling presence and the glory, power and blessings it has brought into my life. I thank you for the glorious life of eternal prosperity, success, victory and health you’ve brought me into. I receive your wondrous love, grace and mercy which you’ve so lavishly bestowed on me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
